DISPLAY TRANS (TRANSLITES)
Lambda
or Conventional Backlit Graphics
Display Transparencies, made from color negatives or digital
files, are displays designed to be back-lit. . They are available
with either a transparent base or with a built-in diffusion
coating. They are usually "sandwiched" between two
sheets of plexiglas, or can be mounted to a single sheet.
While most of our Display
Transparencies are produced on the Lambda at sizes out to
48" wide on roll stock, Expo Exhibits is one of the the
few labs in the country that offers Duratrans on roll stock
up to 72" wide, for extra large-single panel projects.
Here are two types of Photographic
Backlit material available:
Duratrans (translucent
base)
Standard backlit material with a built in diffusion layer.
Duraclear (transparent
base)
Backlit material with a clear, see-through base-gives an interesting
stained glass effect.
View
and Trim Sizes
Please provide both the finished print trim size and the size
of the visual opening. The "view" size is the size
of the transparency that is seen when in the box and backlit.
It does not include the area under the frame of the box. The
"trim" size is the size of the transparency (or,
if mounted, the size of the acrylic) that fills the back of
the box.

Lamination
or Mounting of Translites
Please be advised that if you are NOT planning to face mount
(second surface mount) your transparency to plexiglass, we
strongly advise lamination. The emulsion of the transparency
is easily damaged in handling. Expo Exhibits will not accept
responsibility of the long-term condition of transparencies
that are shipped out unlaminated or unmounted.
